Tasnim is a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice location in both Ardmore and Philadelphia, PA. Tasnim, warmly known as Taz, has been described by clients as genuine, insightful, compassionate and caring, blunt and funny, and encouraging. Taz is an integrative therapist who pulls from various therapeutic approaches such as psychodynamic, systemic, emotion-focused, and behavioral therapies. Being integrative allows her to personalize and tailor the approach to meet each client’s need. She is an interactive therapist who provides and encourages clients to self-reflect, identify and pull from their own strengths, and to clarify and define their values and boundaries. She uses guided exercises and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and changes.
Her background as a therapist started as a Child and Family Therapist. For many years she specialized within a child and adolescent population including ASD population. However, she soon came to realize that the problems the child exhibited were reflective of a whole picture that she didn’t always have acess to, which was the entire systemic dynamics of the family because rarely did the entire family participate in the treatment.
This idea that the child was apart of a family system is what led to her interest in focusing more specifically on families and couples. Taz believes that healthy loving relationships, lead to healthy loving parenting and overall family dynamics. She became passionate about healing and strengthening the relationships of adults as the key to raising happy well-adjusted children.
To enhance focus and interests in relationships, Taz sought out to find the area’s best couples therapist and training she could obtain. She was fortunate not to have to look far before deciding on the Post Graduate training Program from the nationally acclaimed Council For Relationships. It was here that she completed both the Post-Graduate Certificate Program for Marriage and Family Therapy and Sex Therapy Program. Tasnim has completed all requirements, and clinical hours for a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Certified Sex Therapist through AASECT (American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists).
